Happy Art Day (Thursday).

Today’s entry in the “5 pieces I would bring to the ‘Excuse Me’ podcast” is a bit of a cheat because it is less about a specific piece and about the artist.

Sam Keith is a comic book artist who has been less active recently than when I was growing into comics. He was a frequent cover artist for Marvel Comics Presents (I had a full run, and MCP 1 was first book I ever bought), did the pencils for Sandman 1-4, and The Maxx. He’s also had independent series like The Hollows and Eleanor and Egret.

His original comic art is pretty pricey, especially for key pages / covers, and unfortunately, he stopped taking commissions a while back. A lot of the commissions he did were for Death … because he kinda knocks them out of the park. If I had enough money to get him to make an exception and do one, I too would likely ask for a Death one.

Or maybe John Constantine.

Or Sailor Moon.

Anyways. You should buy more art, and I should get a job so I can buy more too. (And not feel guilty-ish for it.)

Link to this particular commission is in the comments.
