CAST2007 – Day One
So, a bit of a random summary post about Day One at CAST2007.
- The LAWST style of workshop appears to scale well
- My concerns of people being placed on high pedestals is not being alleviated at all. I know I am just as guilty as the next person for linking alot to Michael Bolton, James Bach and Cem Kaner, but it would be nice to see others being referenced during presentations. In one talk I lost count at 35 times James was mentioned
- The Meta Framework pattern is something I think needs a bit more exploration
- It was great to finally meet a number of people I have only communicated with via email but there are a number that I had hoped to be here are not
- Seattle (well, Bellevue technically) is gorgeous. I’m sitting on patio outside the conference center overlooking the foothills with snowcapped mountains in the distance
- Again, I wish we could just ignore the certification debate for a couple days and move on with all the other topics out there
- I’ve re-read the context driven principles and realized I might as well have my membership card printed up. It amazes me though how many people in the audience are amazed at some things that are said that I just take for granted as the way I have always done things.
Okay, all caught up on yesterday. Time for lunch.
